Creepy indeed…

I am trying to post something with mainly photos which don’t need further description. However, Vivaldi is not of the same view, so… what can I do? Each post must be filled with small talk to agree with Vivaldi politics?

It seems is kind of creepy to start a blog host site with these kind of silly rules. We should be free to express ourselves the way we want.

1. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ Tiens! Un connoisseur :D. Sรปrement pas franรงais ๐Ÿ˜‰

We have a serious shortage of smileys here ๐Ÿ™

2. Frankly, I don’t see why you would want to post photos as blog posts. You can share photos as photos instead. Everything turns up on your timeline anyways. If people start flooding the blogs with pictures, links and shorter updates it will become impossible to find blog posts with real written content.

3. Vivaldi is made for blogs ,we want make them as we like and they must be free ! I know some people (on Opera ) have many difficulties at writing , and they can post only video or picture without word ! you must let them express themselves in this way otherwise they never will make a blog!
I don’t say that for Valentine of course

4. I will tell why: when you post a photo as photo, it’s looked at as an individual photo. If you post it as a post, with or without words, it acquires a different meaning. I would not share a pic of the above forces in my photos: it would lack meaning. But in the blog, with a proper title it gets a new dimension, I think.
Try to imagine my post just in my photos and tell me if it’s absolutely the same.
Nevertheless, as you know, with had all kinds of posts at Opera and people sorted very well the ones that interested them, not to mention that it’s a form of controlling other people creativeness, that I personally resent.

Yes, indeed.

clic une premiรจre fois tu vas avoir un rectangle comme quoi c’est copier
tu clic sur ok et la dans le menu dรฉroulant tu choisis “copiez l’adresse de l’image ”
et c’est celui lร  qui marche

9. I agree that the photo albums here are a poor replacement for those at My Opera, but that is no excuse for abusing blogs.

A photo album does give an overview of pictures which belong together, but only in a very primitive way. I think you should complain about the poor album functionality (no captions and descriptive text, only one large picture at a time) instead of trying to put them in a blog which is supposed to be a text medium.

The blogs could also need a major improvement, but that is another story.

10. instead of trying to put them in a blog which is supposed to be a text medium

I’m sorry but each blog is personal, so their owners should post whatever they want. The readers or viewers must sort out among the various blogs, what they want to see . If I pass through your blog and interests me, I’ll follow it up, if not I’ll just be on my way.
From my experience from Opera I find that the posts are the least interesting stuff anyway: the comments it arises from them, that’s the truly interest of blogging. The interchanging between people of all nations and the different points of view is the real beauty of blogging.
Whenever I want to read… I pick up a book!

11. Just for the record, first I try to post the photos and after I was confronted with the 50 minimum words rule, so I got side tracked.
Anyway…have a good life sir…

12. I agree with you Valentine. We should be able to post images without words, as some images say what they mean without added commentary from the blogger. Sometimes, as the saying goes, a picture truly is worth a thousand words.

13. it’s absolutely incredible that i hear here ! those men seem think for us and the way to create our blogs
if you don’t like our blogs you can go away and see intellectual blogs or geek blogs
but let Valentine (or others) to put pictures with one line of text and people can put comments on it
the album photos are totally different than blogs
.

14. Je peux te dire que je vais continuer de chercher une autre plateform… I get the feeling we are not welcome here, don’t you?

15. oh no don’t leave this place ( again once ) !
if you do that , the short brains will win the party ,
wait with the time we will be more many to think like us

16. Hello valentine64 and catse, please pardon me, as I do not write in your language and I must write in my own. Of course you are welcome here. Nothing you wrote or posted was offensive, in my opinion, and I do not know what inspired the other comments. In fact, I thought your images were interesting, and they tell a story of the world we live in today. The character limit is 25 now, and I do not know when that changed, but I am going to find out why there is a limit at all.

17. please pardon me, if I do not write well in your language ๐Ÿ˜€
yes they must change , else the old members of opera go away because they like to have freedom , else they could go on FB , or like many here , take account ( or return ) on Worpress and you would have lost all these good members which have put a big hope with Vivaldi .Because if Vivaldi wants be like FB+Google ..It’s a big error in judgment .people want something different

18. Thank you for your comment Debbie. I’ll wait and see if it gets better ๐Ÿ˜€ When I moved in here from Opera, I was fully aware of the inconvenience of a new platform but also of the thrill of helping make one.

19. Whereas I disagree I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s really none of my business. Therefore if I offended you, please accept my apology. I’ve removed all of my responses since they were intrusive. You won’t hear from me again. Best regards.

20. I only saw your comments when they were already erased so, no point in answering. Your entitle to your one opinion, of course, and I wasn’t offended even if you answer me directly to comments I have not posted. We are all free to express our opinions so long we don’t attack the opinion bearer directly.
I don’t know you and you don’t know me and it seems you’ve been a little paternalist in your comments issued from an erroneous comprehension of my post.
No harm done and feel free to comment whenever you want. Please just bear in mind that english is not my mother language, so I’m bound to make mistakes and express myself a bit abruptly and the same happens with a lot of people blogging.
This said, feel free to drop by or don’t, whichever is the more agreeable to you…and I still wish you a nice live. Regards

21. James
you can say that you want, here and elsewhere speech is free ! for us as for you
you have not offended me and i suppose no one here . but you have the way to offend my nerves ๐Ÿ˜€
